No Chiefs receiver played more than Jamar Newsome.

Some interesting snap counts for the Kansas City Chiefs loss to the Cleveland Browns last week.

If you don't read any of the rest of this, read this: Jamar Newsome is the Chiefs only hope. The former practice squad receiver led all Chiefs receivers in snaps last week. To the promised land we will follow Jamar Newsome.

Snap counts below...

Offense

Four offensive lineman and Brady Quinn played every snap.

Branden Albert came out of the game if you'll recall. He ended up playing in 61 percent of the snaps. Donald Stephenson replaced him the rest of the time.

Jamar Newsome led all Chiefs receivers with 33 snaps. Yeah, you read that right.

You know who else had 33 snaps? Jamaal Charles.

Chiefs receivers by snaps: Jamar Newsome (33), Terrance Copper (32), Dexter McCluster (32), Jon Baldwin (29)

Dwayne Bowe ended up playing eight snaps. In those he had 70 yards receiving.

Peyton Hillis had eight snaps, too.

Benny Sieu-USA TODAY Sports

Defense

Two Chiefs played every snap: Justin Houston and Eric Berry. First time we've ever seen that combination on the played-every-snap list.

Rookie free agent Tysyn Hartman played. A lot. He was in on all but three snaps, the highest outside of Houston and Berry.

Derrick Johnson, Tamba Hali and Brandon Flowers don't miss many snaps. DJ missed five plays, Hali missed eight and Flowers' 13.

The Chiefs receiver was hit hard.

KC Chiefs receiver Dexter McCluster is (I think) the smallest player on the team at 5'8 and 170 pounds. He plays the slot so he gets lit up fairly regularly.

On Sunday in Cleveland, he was sandwiched by two Browns linebackers, leading to the photo above.

The Browns linebacker is Craig Robertson and the cornerback is Dimitri Patterson. (Fun fact: Patterson once played for the Chiefs.) You can even see the sweat falling off of McCluster and/or the Browns players.

Kansas City was competitive for a half.

The Kansas City Chiefs dropped their 11th game of the season, losing to the Cleveland Browns, 30-7, on Sunday. It was as disappointing as the rest of them as the Chiefs did a couple of things early that drew you in, making you think the offense was waking up.

And then they just decided not to score anymore after Jamaal Charles' 80-yard touchdown on the game's first play.

The Chiefs lost because they're not very good. Here are the Chiefs losing stats:

You lose when ... you go 1-of-11 on third down. This was an area where the Chiefs were showing some improvement but they took a huuuge step back with this miserable performance. If you can't sustain drives, you can't score a lot of points. The 80-yard runs will only come so often.

You lose when ... you complete less than 50 percent of your passes. Brady Quinn was 10-of-21 and his only notable plays came in the first quarter -- a 23-yard pass to Dwayne Bowe and a 47-yard pass to Bowe. That's it. That's the only time the Chiefs threatened the Browns through the air.

You lose when ... you make special teams mistakes. You miss a field goal, an easy one, too. You let Travis Benjamin take it to the house. That's what happens -- you lose. It's no secret.

You lose when ... you can't score in the red zone. This has been a problem for the Chiefs all season long. (Jon Baldwin was drafted for this very reason.) They were in the red zone twice and they came away with no points.

You lose when ... you score one touchdown. Since September 30, the Chiefs have scored more than one offensive touchdown in a game just once -- last week against the Carolina Panthers.

There's this question:

Has an NFL team ever had a RB rush for 165 yards and lose by more than 3 TDs? #Chiefs #JamaalCharles

Cleveland beat Kansas City, 30-7.

Well. It happened again.

The Kansas City Chiefs were blown out by the Cleveland Browns, 30-7. It is the eighth double digit blowout this season for the Chiefs. The 23-point differential is the second biggest blowout of the season behind the 38-10 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

So, yeah, let's repeat that: the Chiefs two biggest losses this season came against the Browns and Bucs.

This team is awful.

Your Chiefs-Browns recap is below...

It's a cloudy, dreary day in Cleveland. Or just a regular day in Cleveland. 44 degrees at kickoff.

They really, really dislike Hillis.

The Chiefs didn't have a 20-plus yard pass for two months. Now? Brady Quinn's throwing darts left and right. On the second drive, Brady Quinn found Bowe streaking across the field for a 23-yard gain. Later in the drive, Quinn went deep to Bowe -- yes, the Chiefs actually went deep! -- for a 47-yard gain, bringing the ball inside the 10-yard line. Bowe got away with a little push-off -- he held onto the defender's hands for a second -- but there was no call.

That second drive ended in...

First quarter score: Chiefs 7 Browns 3

Dwayne Bowe went down with a rib injury.

Score update: Chiefs 7 Browns 10 Wow. The Browns' Travis Benjamin took a punt back 93-yards for the score. Based on the GIF below, Dustin Colquitt needs to work on his tackling.

That's actually a critical play by Colquitt. I'm not exactly sure what he's coached to do there but even falling to the ground and laying there would've been more effective than what he did. All he had to do was slow Benjamin so that another Chief could come from behind and tackle him. That one hurts.

Jamaal Charles went down with an injury after appearing to fall on the ball after a tackle.

After making fun of Dustin Colquitt for his non-tackle, he comes back with a beautiful punt, pinning the Browns inside their own five yard line.

Fight!! It all starts over Shaun Smith grabbing Trent Richardson by the neck when he was on the ground. Whoops!

Halftime score: Chiefs 7 Browns 10

The Chiefs special teams performance has been horrid. They gave up a punt return touchdown, missed a field goal and then on the second half kickoff they booted it out of bounds. Awful.

Eric Berry has a wrap on his hand, which may have contributed to him dropping an interception. Considering what the result was for the Browns on that drive, that's a killer drop.

Score update: Chiefs 7 Browns 17 Josh Cribbs took the direct snap and nearly scored from 12 yards out but after a challenge, referees ruled his knee was down before crossing the goal line. On the next play, Trent Richardson punched it in.

The Chiefs response to the score? A tipped interception. Just a killer as the Browns are already in field goal range at the Chiefs 29-yard line.

Score update: Chiefs 7 Browns 20 The Browns capitalized on the Chiefs turnover.

The rain starts midway through the third quarter.

Third quarter score: Chiefs 7 Browns 20

Score update: Chiefs 7 Browns 27 Cleveland keeps piling on. The Browns went 82 yards in 12 plays, capped by Trent Richardson's second touchdown.

Score update: Chiefs 7 Browns 30 Yeah, that's a 30-burger for the Browns.

Jamaal Charles had 165 yards and the Chiefs lost by 23 points.

Final score: Chiefs 7 Browns 30
