The broadcast quickly noted that Brown’s shoulder was getting checked on the sideline. Brown did not return to the game, and the team soon announced that Brown was questionable to return. In his post-game press conference, head coach Andy Reid outlined Brown’s injury.
“Hollywood Brown has that same thing Tyreek [Hill] had down here (Jacksonville), actually [in 2019],” started Reid, “a sternoclavicular post dislocation — they take [Brown] to the hospital, they’re checking on him. They’re working on that as we speak.
“I think he’ll miss some time. We’ll just see where it’s at. I’m not going to go any further right now. We’ll know more later on.”
Former Arrowhead Pride injury analyst Aaron Borgmann offered commentary on Hill’s injury when it occurred five years ago.
“A recent example of a wide receiver with a similar injury would be Danny Amendola for the Rams in 2012,” wrote Borgmann at the time. “Game records show that he only missed three games (and a bye week) with a similar injury. Since we do not have all the information, it would be reckless to make an assumption at this time when it comes to Hill’s return-to-play status.”
Hill’s injury occurred in Week 1, and he missed four games, resuming play in Week 6.
Brown’s status is something to monitor in the coming weeks.
