Staff predictions for Sunday afternoon’s Week 18 NFL games

The Chiefs are playing the Chargers on Sunday, but we’re picking all of the afternoon games.

The (5-11) Los Angeles Chargers will host the (10-6) Kansas City Chiefs at 3:25 p.m. (Arrowhead Time) on Sunday. The game will be carried on CBS — locally on KCTV/5. According to DraftKings Sportsbook, the Chargers are favored by 3.5 points.

But Week 18 of the NFL season kicked off on Saturday with the Pittsburgh Steelers at the Baltimore Ravens and the Houston Texans visiting the Indianapolis Colts.

Both of those games — and three more played on Sunday — are the pivotal matchups for AFC playoff seeding. We’ll cover our picks for the “Sunday Night Football” game between the Buffalo Bills and Miami Dolphins in a later article. The others are the (9-7) Jacksonville Jaguars against the (5-11) Tennessee Titans from Nashville on CBS (locally on KCTV/5) and the (8-8) Denver Broncos on the road against the (7-9) Las Vegas Raiders during the late afternoon slate on FOX.
