Some notes

  • The Chiefs had four key players out of practice on Wednesday: defensive tackle Chris Jones (groin), running back Isiah Pacheco (quad/shoulder), wide receiver Rashee Rice (hamstring) and cornerback L’Jarius Sneed (calf).
  • With Week 18’s matchup holding no playoff implications for the Chiefs, it is likely the team remains conservative about any of those four players suiting up.
  • Tight end Travis Kelce (neck) and wide receiver Kadarius Toney (hip/ankle) were limited. Toney — who has not played in two weeks — is already expected to suit up on Sunday.
  • Left tackle Donovan Smith (neck) appeared on the injury report as a full participant after missing four straight games due to injury.
  • Quarterback Patrick Mahomes (ankle) made the report, but he was able to log a full practice. The meaningless Week 18 game allows the Chiefs to rest their starter ahead of the postseason.
