Since there is — as always — a full slate of college football scheduled on New Year’s Day, the Week 17 edition of “Monday Night Football” is being played on Saturday — with the (11-4) Detroit Lions on the road against the (10-5) Dallas Cowboys. Joe Buck and Troy Aikman will have the call on ESPN (and ABC) starting at 7:15 Arrowhead Time.

The Lions have already clinched the NFC North, but they need to win their last two games — and have the San Francisco 49ers lose one — to grab the NFC’s top seed. They’re coming off two straight wins: a 42-17 butt-whipping of the Denver Broncos and a 30-24 win over the Minnesota Vikings.

After whipping off five straight wins, the Cowboys have now dropped two consecutive games: a 31-10 beatdown by the Buffalo Bills, followed by a narrow 22-20 loss to the Miami Dolphins. While they’ve already clinched a playoff berth, they also need two wins — and a loss by the Philadelphia Eagles — to claim the NFC East title, which comes with a postseason home game.

According to DraftKings Sportbook, the Cowboys are favored by six points.

Here are our picks for Saturday night’s game. Be sure to cast your vote, too — and discuss the game in the comments!
