Welcome to SB Nation Reacts, a survey of fans across the NFL. Each week, we send out questions to the most plugged-in Kansas City Chiefs fans. You can see all of the recent survey results here.

Chiefs’ fan confidence

After Sunday’s 20-17 loss to the Buffalo Bills — the team’s fourth in six weeks — it’s hardly surprising that the confidence of Chiefs fans has fallen to a very low 31%. But remember: Kansas City is very likely to win its eighth consecutive division title — and is almost certain to make the playoffs. In comparison, New England — the Chiefs’ upcoming opponent — has already been eliminated from the postseason. This week, 24% of its fans are confident in the team’s direction.

Have the Chiefs’ fans given up?

But interestingly... despite this very low vote of confidence, only around one in six Kansas City fans have given up on their team for this season. #NeverSayDie

The Chiefs’ toughest upcoming game

Using DVOA rankings, Kansas City’s last four opponents (ranked by team strength) are the Cincinnati Bengals (12th), Los Angeles Chargers (13th), New England Patriots (26th) and Las Vegas Raiders (28th). Using Elo rankings, they are the Bengals (7th), Raiders (21st), Chargers (23rd) and Patriots (29th). Chiefs fans seem to agree with the Elo rankings.

Best backup quarterback

Among the many backup quarterbacks who are running NFL offenses as the 2023 season enters its final quarter, fans from across the league seem most impressed with the Bengals’ Jake Browning — which might have a lot to do with why Cincinnati is seen as the Chiefs’ toughest opponent in the stretch run. Kansas City will face backup quarterbacks Bailey Zappe (Patriots), Aidan O’Connell (Raiders), Browning and Easton Stick (Chargers) as opposing quarterbacks.
