On Sunday morning, the Kansas City Chiefs collected a 31-17 win over the Las Vegas Raiders. Here’s some of what Tom Ruprecht overheard at Allegiant Stadium.

  1. “It’s so sad when you see a broken, lost soul in a Las Vegas casino, mindlessly feeding coins into the slot machine. And then you realize, ‘Wow! Four weeks ago, that guy was head coach of the Raiders!’”
  2. “Raiders safety Roderick Teamer got a DUI hours before the game. Yeah... if I were a safety facing Mahomes, I’d get drunk, too.”
  3. “Roderick Teamer now goes from jail back to the Raiders, which is considered a lateral move.”
  4. “Las Vegas is a place where washed-up people can still experience a little success — like Carrot Top, Barry Manilow and Clyde Edwards-Helaire.”
  5. “Apparently when the Chiefs got to Las Vegas, they hired the ‘Oceans 11’ crew to help them break into the end zone in the second half.”
  6. “Good news: Kansas City finally made Rashee Rice a full-time employee. Now he plays in the second half, too!”
  7. “Luckily for Matt Nagy, the Chiefs put up some points — because offensive whiz kid Matt Canada is available.”
  8. “While Mark Davis will never win a Super Bowl, he can pride himself on having a super Bowl Cut.”
  9. “Game ball to Andy Reid for matriculating up the Chiefs’ all-time wins list past Hank Stram.”
  10. “After losing to Kansas City, Raiders cornerback Amik Robertson said, ‘I know we’re better than that team.’ We know he was drunker than Roderick Teamer!”
