On Sunday afternoon the Kansas City Chiefs turned in a convincing 31-17 victory over the Los Angeles Chargers. Here’s some of what Tom Ruprecht overheard on GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium.
- “With 76,000 fans rabidly rooting against them, the Chargers must feel like this is a home game!”
- “The Chiefs never have an offensive problem that can’t be solved by a Giants or Jets reject.”
- “So lemme get this straight: the Jets couldn’t figure out how to use… a punt returner?”
- “Amazing! Kelce’s gone 29-for-29. He’s been in every one of the last 29 commercials!”
- “Seeing Kelce get open against triple coverage makes me think he’s the perfect guy to teach Taylor how to avoid the paparazzi.”
- “What an inspiring moment it’ll be for failures everywhere when Justin Herbert is inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame with a sub-.500 record.”
- “So Taylor... when you were growing up, was National Tight Ends Day a big deal in your house?”
- “Great news, Chargers fans! You didn’t lose a one-score heartbreaker today!”
