NFL fans aren’t writing off the Chiefs’ season

Despite Kansas City’s two losses, NFL fans still see it as a dangerous team.

Since the Kansas City Chiefs have lost two straight games — posting a losing record for the first time since quarterback Patrick Mahomes became the team’s starter — some Kansas City fans are fearing the worst: that the Chiefs have lost their edge.

But that isn’t necessarily true for the rest of the NFL’s fans. In SB Nation’s weekly Reacts survey, fans were asked which of the league’s 1-2 teams is the best. The Chiefs were their overwhelming choice.

Which is the best 1-2 team?

Team Votes
Chiefs 83%
Vikings 7%
Seahawks 6%
Dolphins 1%
Washington 1%
Steelers 1%
Eagles 0.31%

Does this mean that the Chiefs will do what they did the last time they had a losing record — which was to get all the way to 1-5 before winning 10 straight games to make the playoffs and win their first postseason game since 1993?

No... of course not.

We only know that the 2015 season demonstrates that one of Andy Reid’s teams could do that. But it does seem that despite the two losses, many fans across the league still think it is possible for the Chiefs to do something similar in 2021.
