Each practice day of the season, the Kansas City Chiefs release an official injury report leading up to the next game. This week, the Chiefs host the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday at Noon Arrowhead Time.

Some notes

  • Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid noted on Wednesday that five Chiefs players are dealing with injury-related issues this week (more on that here), but only three were listed as limited participants on Wednesday’s injury report — linebacker Anthony Hitchens (abdomen), defensive end Chris Jones (wrist) and defensive tackle Derrick Nnadi (hip).
  • The injury report still does not include linebacker Willie Gay Jr. (toe), who remains on injured reserve and will miss at least this game against the Chargers before his return to the 53-man roster. Reid also spoke about Gay’s status on Wednesday.
  • The Chargers’ injuries of note are those of outside linebacker Joey Bosa (foot ankle), cornerback Chris Harris Jr. (shoulder) and safety Derwin James (toe).
  • Chargers head coach Brandon Staley called the rest days for Bosa and James, “precautionary,” so their official statuses on Thursday are certainly a point to watch.
