Former Kansas City Chiefs punter Dustin Colquitt has a new opportunity — it is with the Atlanta Falcons on their practice squad.
We have signed P Dustin Colquitt to the practice squad and released OL Bryan Witzmann from the practice squad.

Colquitt, 39, was released by the Chiefs following their Super Bowl LIV win after 15 years with the club. He then signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers in September of 2020 — only to be let go in late October. Colquitt caught on with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers practice squad on December 18.
The Jacksonville Jaguars later poached Colquitt and added him to their 53-man roster, but they eventually released him, and the Chiefs brought him back to the practice squad for last season’s playoff run.
The Falcons were in a game with the Super Bowl champion Buccaneers this past weekend when Cameron Nizialek shanked two punts, leading to a 48-25 Tampa Bay victory. Colquitt is expecting to directly compete with Nizialek this week to see what he has left.
To make room for Colquitt, the Falcons cut another familiar face, offensive lineman Bryan Witzmann. Witzmann spent two weeks with the Chiefs on their preseason roster in August.
