On Monday, the NFL announced that Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes has been nominated to become Week 1’s FedEx Air NFL Player of the Week.

The Chiefs quarterback completed 27 of 36 passes for 337 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions — good for a 131.4 passer rating — in Sunday’s 33-29 defeat of the Cleveland Browns in the season opener.

Mahomes won the weekly award three times in 2018 — when was also named the FedEx Air NFL Player of the Year — and won it once in 2019.

Other nominees include Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady and Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott.

The nominees for the Week 1 FedEx Ground NFL Player of the Week include Cincinnati Bengals running back Joe Mixon, Chicago Bears running back David Montgomery and Denver Broncos running back Melvin Gordon.

Voting is open until Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. Arrowhead Time. Click here to vote now. You can also vote on Twitter through @NFL published polls and on the NFL Mobile App.

FedEx will make a $2,000 donation to historically black colleges and universities in the names of both the winning quarterback and running back.
