The Kansas City Chiefs avoided what could have been an absolute disaster on Saturday, when a barber who was COVID-19 positive was in the midst of cutting the team’s hair, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
There were over 20 Chiefs players and staffers, including QB Patrick Mahomes, scheduled Sunday to get a haircut with the barber who tested positive for COVID, per sources. The Chiefs acted wisely and aggressively, and pulled the barber - mid-cut - once his test results came in.

Only two Chiefs — wide receiver Demarcus Robinson and backup center Daniel Kilgore — ended up on the reserve list as a result of being a close contact with the individual. Any player on either the Chiefs or Tampa Bay Buccaneers who tests positive for COVID will immediately become ineligible for Super Bowl LV on Sunday.
There is more from Schefter.
Chiefs’ C Daniel Kilgore was mid haircut when the barber was notified that he was Covid positive. Kilgore and the barber both were wearing masks. Kilgore has to stay home this week, but has tested negative and can return Saturday, fly with the team and play Sunday, per source. https://t.co/oWfjJX1qIr

On his way to being cleared on Wednesday, Kilgore had some fun with this now-public nugget on his official Twitter account.
