As the Kansas City Chiefs and Tampa Bay Buccaneers prepare to meet this Sunday evening in Super Bowl LV, Buccaneers defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul spoke with reporters during a Zoom conference call on Monday.
Asked about Chiefs offensive lineman Mike Remmers — who will likely start at left tackle in place of Eric Fisher, who was injured in the AFC championship game against the Buffalo Bills a week ago Sunday — Pierre-Paul professed ignorance about the ninth-year NFL veteran, per a tweet from Kansas City Star beat reporter Herbie Teope.
Bucs pass rusher Jason Pierre-Paul asked for his thoughts on Chiefs OL Mike Remmers.

"I didn't even know who that was. Man, I'm not going to lie to you. Is this a tackle that you're talking about? Like I said, I don't care too much about it. They got to figure that out."
Not only did both Pierre-Paul and Remmers start the Week 12 game between the two teams earlier this season, but a cross-reference of their game logs from Pro-Football-Reference.com also reveals that they started against each other one other time: on December 20, 2015, when Pierre-Paul was with the New York Giants and Remmers was with the Carolina Panthers.
And as you see above, we even have photographic proof of that 2015 matchup.
So what have we learned?
- Pierre-Paul doesn’t remember the Giants’ 38-35 loss to the Panthers in 2015
- Pierre-Paul doesn’t remember the Buccaneers’ 27-24 loss to the Chiefs in Week 12
- Pierre-Paul has never heard of the term, “bulletin board material”
Perhaps on Sunday, Remmers and his teammates can provide Pierre-Paul with another game he’d rather forget.
