Here's what happened in our simulation:
The Kansas City Chiefs look to bounce back from their blowout loss to the Tennessee Titans in a matchup against the New York Giants on Monday Night Football. We simulated the matchup in the EA Universe.
The Chiefs have felt what it is like to give up turnovers this season, but in this simulation, the Chiefs' defense forced three Giants turnovers. Cornerback L'Jarius Sneed had an early pick, and Nick Bolton then forced a fumble recovered by Juan Thornhill and taken to the house for a touchdown. Bolton picked off Daniel Jones in the fourth quarter and took it to the end zone for a pick-six. If the Chiefs can just force two turnovers in their game against the Giants, the offense should help complement them to win big.
The Chiefs offense — led by Patrick Mahomes —- looked dialed in early in this one by great playcalling that showed a mix of passing and running plays. Darrel Williams was able to have a successful day in the running game, where he collected a touchdown on 53 yards, averaging 4.8 yards per carry. In the passing game, Mecole Hardman had a nice day with five receptions for 71 yards.
Something that could hurt the Chiefs' defense was how Jones was used in the running game. Quarterback draws or even role-outs for significant gains could be on the horizon for the Chiefs, as Jones ran four different times in this matchup simulation. The quarterback finished with 65 rushing yards.
Final score: Chiefs 38, Giants 14
In Week 9, the Chiefs host the Green Bay Packers in a late Sunday afternoon kickoff set for 3:25 p.m. Once again, we will first tell you how it plays out in the EA Universe.
