The Kansas City Chiefs have released their list of inactive players for Sunday’s game against the Los Angeles Chargers. The Chiefs had already announced that quarterback Chad Henne would start the game in place of Patrick Mahomes, but now we know that he — along with starting safety Tyrann Mathieu — won’t even be active.

The rest of the list is not a surprise. On Friday, the Chiefs listed wide receiver Tyreek Hill (hamstring), wide receiver Sammy Watkins (calf), right tackle Mike Remmers (back), running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire (ankle) and linebacker Ben Niemann (hamstring) as out for the game. All were held out from each of the team’s three practices this week.

Running back Le’Veon Bell (knee) and defensive tackle Derrick Nnadi (knee) were both listed as questionable on Friday. Both will be active for the game, but how much they will play is unknown.

Linebacker Damien Wilson (knee) was limited in all of this week’s practices. Defensive end Frank Clark (illness) was limited in Wednesday’s practice. Cornerback Charvarius Ward (hamstring), defensive tackle Mike Pennel (back) showed up on this week’s injury reports, but practiced fully. All four are active for the game, but are unlikely to play significant snaps.

Also unavailable is tight end Ricky Seals-Jones, whom the team waived on Saturday. Practice squad wide receiver Gehrig Dieter took his spot on the active roster. Dieter is active for the game.

Three other practice squad players — quarterback Matt Moore, cornerback Deandre Baker and offensive guard Patrick Omameh — were given game-day elevations to the active roster. All three will be available to play on Sunday, but will automatically revert to the practice squad on Monday.

The Chargers have also released their list of inactive players.

Defensive end Joey Bosa (shin/concussion), tackle Bryan Bulaga (foot), safety Jahleel Addae (calf), cornerback Casey Hayward Jr. (hamstring), linebacker Malik Jefferson (shoulder) and safety Rayshawn Jenkins (ankle) had all been listed as out on Friday, so their presence on the inactives list is not a surprise.

Tackle Sam Tevi (knee) was held out of two practices and then limited on Friday. Listed as questionable for the game, he will be also be inactive.

On Saturday, the Chargers elevated practice squad defensive back John Brannon to the active roster. Active for the game, he will automatically be returned to the active roster on Monday.

Quarterback Easton Stick was not on the Chargers’ injury reports this week, so he should be considered a healthy scratch. Tyrod Taylor will back up starting quarterback Justin Herbert.
