Some notes
- Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes was a limited participant in Wednesday’s practice leading into the team’s game against the Buffalo Bills. The Chiefs initially announced him as a full participant before revisiting his status later Wednesday afternoon.
- Andy Reid on Mahomes: “He looked good. He’s in the protocol, so there is only certain things he can do and it’s a limited basis, but [Wednesday] is a little bit of a limited practice, so this fit right in to what he can do, but he took all the snaps, and he feels good. We’re just going to follow this protocol as close as we possibly can.”
- Cornerback Bashaud Breeland is also currently in the concussion protocol.
- All other Chiefs in question for Sunday were limited participants, except for linebacker Willie Gay Jr. (ankle).
- Wide receiver Gabriel Davis (ankle) and defensive tackle Vernon Butler (quad) missed practice for Buffalo on Wednesday. Butler is a rotational lineman for Buffalo.
- Wide receiver Stephon Diggs (oblique) — who is the Bills’ most important skill-position player — was limited.
