Our friends at Odds Checker sent over some of their updated NFL lines on Wednesday, a day after the Kansas City Chiefs received their Super Bowl LIV championship rings. As it turns out, the odds say the Chiefs are favored to do it all over again next year.
The Chiefs are +650 to repeat as Super Bowl champions, with Super Bowl LV odds better than the Baltimore Ravens (+700), San Francisco 49ers (+1000), New Orleans Saints (+1200) and Tampa Bay Buccaneers (+1600).
(Odds explained: A $100 bet placed on the Kansas City Chiefs would pay out $650 if they won the Super Bowl. A $100 bet placed on the New Orleans Saints would pay out $1,200 if they won the Super Bowl.)
The Chiefs are also the favorite to win the AFC title (+300) and AFC West division (-420). Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes is favored to win the NFL MVP at +400, ahead of Lamar Jackson (+700), Russell Wilson (+800), Dak Prescott (+1400) and Tom Brady (+1800). Mahomes is also favored to throw for the most passing yards in the 2020 regular season (+450).
Other odds of note (more here)
- Chiefs wide receiver Tyreek Hill has the sixth-best odds to record the most receiving yards (+1600).
- When it comes to the Chiefs’ top two rookies, running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire has the second-best odds to win offensive rookie of the year (+400) and linebacker Willie Gay Jr. has the eighth-best odds to win defensive rookie of the year (+2600).
- The Chiefs have the highest over/under total in the league at 11.5.
