Some notes:
- It was revealed on Wednesday morning (via NFL Network) that Chiefs defensive tackle Khalen Saunders will be out of action for the next month, so it was expected that he would not practice on Wednesday.
- Chiefs cornerback Charvarius Ward is “making progress” on his fractured hand, but he did not practice on Wednesday. Defensive end Alex Okafor hurt his hamstring in the game against the Houston Texans, and he was also held out.
- Chiefs head coach Andy Reid noted Monday that center Austin Reiter had a sore knee, so it is a positive sign that he practiced fully on Wednesday.
- On the Chargers’ side, the injury to watch is that of star defensive end Joey Bosa, who missed the first workout of the week dealing with a triceps injury. Center Mike Pouncey missed Los Angeles’ Week 1 game against Cincinnati with a hip issue, and he did not practice on Wednesday to begin the week.
