Kansas City Chiefs cornerback Bashaud Breeland is still being suspended for four games to start the NFL season, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter’s report on Wednesday morning.
Chiefs’ starting right cornerback Bashaud Breeland is facing a four-game suspension for violating the NFL policy of substances of abuse, per source.

Breeland expected to miss games against Texans, Chargers, Ravens and Patriots.
Shefter’s August 19 note matches NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero’s from April.
#Chiefs CB Bashaud Breeland -- who was arrested Tuesday on multiple charges, including marijuana possession -- was already facing a four-game suspension for a separate violation of the substance-abuse policy, sources tell me and @MikeGarafolo. Breeland is appealing.

Later Wednesday afternoon, Breeland acknowledged the suspension by posting a video and apology note to his official Instagram channel.
BREELAND: As previously announced by the league, I have received a 4 game suspension for off-the-field matters.
I post this today because I want to apologize, publicly, to the entire Chiefs organization, my coaches, teammates, family and fans.
I accept full responsibility for my actions, and I look forward to getting back on the field with my teammates to defend our Super Bowl Title.
Thank you to everyone for your continued support, and Let’s Go Chiefs!
