NFL Network’s Peter Schrager joined Bleacher Report’s Adam Lefkoe on “The Lefkoe Show” this week, and Schrager had an extremely notable take on Kansas City Chiefs rookie running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire.
SCHRAGER: “I’m in my fantasy draft, am I taking a guy sight unseen? Like, literally — sight unseen. And yet, I talked to people in Kansas City. I’m pretty plugged in there. I might take Clyde Edwards-Helaire first overall this year. That’s how good they’re talking about this guy. They’re saying this guy is unbelievable, and they have all these weapons, and he’s sliding right in, and he’s going to get the bulk of it.”
Fantasy football isn’t for everybody, but the fact of the matter is this: by suggesting players take Edwards-Helaire over Christian McCaffrey, that would mean he could be in the ballpark of 2,000 yards from scrimmage... as a rookie.
This reminds me of the rumblings coming out of Kansas City before Patrick Mahomes was named the team’s starter.
