On Saturday morning, the Kansas City Chiefs ran the second of 14 padded practices as training camp continued at the team’s practice facility on the grounds of the Truman Sports Complex.
After missing the first padded practice on Friday, defensive end Frank Clark was back on the field Saturday.
Defensive tackle Chris Jones, cornerbacks Alex Brown and Antonio Hamilton— all dealing with groin injuries — did not practice. Wide receiver Byron Pringle sat out with a knee injury.
Deon Yelder — reported with a groin injury on Friday — also missed Saturday’s practice. Linebacker Darius Harris remained out for personal reasons, but Devaroe Lawrence was back on the field after an excused absence on Friday.
Defensive tackle Derrick Nnadi — who was absent on Friday — was working on the sidelines during Saturday’s practice, with Hamilton, safety Juan Thornhill and offensive lineman Martinas Rankin (via Kansas City Star).
Cornerback BoPete Keyes — along with Thornhill and Rankin — remain on the team’s physically-unable-to-perform list.
Offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy, wide receiver Tyreek Hill, defensive end Alex Okafor and offensive lineman Andrew Wylie are scheduled to speak after the Saturday session. As always, we will be bringing you what they had to say as the day progresses.
