The Athletic’s Samuel Gold reached out to share another in-depth video breaking down a Chiefs player.

The Kansas City Chiefs selected wide receiver Mecole Hardman in the second round of the 2019 NFL Draft, and the 22-year-old shined as a rookie.

Appearing on offense for the Chiefs only 45% of the time, Hardman still managed for 538 yards and six touchdowns in the regular season. Hardman was about six yards ahead of the rest of the team in yards per reception when it came to regular contributors. He was named a second-team All-Pro as a return specialist.

You may remember Samuel Gold, who broke down some tape of Patrick Mahomes earlier this offseason. Gold recently did the same for Hardman.

Below is the video — and what he had to say to preface it:

In my latest video breakdown, I wanted to look at Mecole Hardman and his 2019 season in the Kansas City Chiefs’ offense. Hardman has blazing fast speed and is amazing with the ball in his hands. The big question mark for him coming out of school was his route running. Would he ever develop into more than just a speedster? In my opinion, yes, and his development is what makes me very excited. His stems improved over the course of the season. Once he fully creates the two-way go’s on his releases, Hardman will turn into a great wide receiver in this offense. Plus, it certainly does help having an elite quarterback like Patrick Mahomes throw you the ball.
