The Kansas City Chiefs revealed their 2020 schedule on Thursday night with an in-house release show featuring old friend BJ Kissel. Chiefs safety Tyrann Mathieu joined the program shortly after the official announcement and weighed in on which team he was most excited to play in 2020.

“For me, it will probably the Tampa Bay Buccaneers,” explained Mathieu.

The Buccaneers acquired quarterback Tom Brady this offseason after he spent 20 seasons with the New England Patriots.

“I think any time you get a chance to play against some of the greatest players to play the game, I always look at that as a great challenge. I think, for me, it’s a little deeper than that — going up against some of my old ball coaches when I first came into the National Football League in Todd Bowles, Bruce Arians.”

Bowles, the defensive coordinator of the Bucs, was the defensive coordinator of the Arizona Cardinals when the club drafted Mathieu in 2013. Arians, now the Bucs’ head coach, was the Cardinals’ head coach at the time.

Mathieu continued.

“Even some of the young pups that they have on that team that look up to me, that I’m pretty sure are going to be trying to steal nuggets from me as we go. I got to be mindful of how often I give out these nuggets.”

The Bucs currently have four defensive players from LSU on their 90-man roster. The Chiefs and Bucs play in Tampa Week 12 at 3:25 p.m. Arrowhead Time.
