Kansas City fans predict Chiefs’ record for 2020 season

With a shiny new Lombardi and most of the team’s starters returning, who can blame them?

On Friday morning, our Ron Kopp, Jr. went through the Kansas City Chiefs’ schedule for the 2020 season, making an early prediction for how it will play out. Ron concluded the Chiefs would open the season 5-0 and finish the year 13-3 — which he described as the floor for the team’s record.

But in polls included in Ron’s article, Arrowhead Pride readers were even more confident. Fully a quarter of them thought the Chiefs would lose no more than one game, a majority predicted no more than two losses and three quarters thought the team would finish at (or above) Ron’s prediction.

Season prediction

  • 16-0 (12%)
  • 15-1 (13%)
  • 14-2 (32%)
  • 13-3 (19%)
  • 12-4 (19%)
  • 11-5 (3%)
  • 10-6 (1%)
  • 9-7 or worse (1%)

Individual games

When it came to predicting the outcomes of individual games, readers were even more confident. There was only one game where a majority believed the Chiefs would lose. In 12 matchups, no more than one person in 20 predicted a loss.

Even figuring it conservatively — counting a majority less than 75% or a minority above 25% as half a win and half a loss — readers saw the team finishing with only one or two losses.
