News that Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Sammy Watkins would return to the club on a new, more affordable deal broke overnight on Twitter, meaning most received the news just as they were waking up.
That apparently included quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

“Run it back” has become the Chiefs’ theme for 2020, with the team trying to return as Super Bowl champions.
Watkins confirmed the news on his own official Twitter account...

...to which Mahomes replied:

Mahomes and Watkins have combined for 92 combined connections for 1,192 yards and six touchdowns over the pat two seasons (2018-19). The playoff numbers are staggering — with Mahomes targeting Watkins 30 times in five games for 24 connections, 464 yards and a score.
Now, Mahomes can go back to bed...or maybe not.
