Chiefs win Super Bowl LIV 31-20: Complete game summary

The Kansas City Chiefs defeated the San Francisco 49ers 31-20 in Super Bowl LIV at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami to become Super Bowl Champions.

OFFENSE

First half

First drive: The Chiefs started the game with a 7-yard run by Damien Williams. After an incompletion, the Chiefs faced their first third down of the game and could not convert after a incomplete pass to Williams. The Chiefs punted.

Second drive: Patrick Mahomes started the drive with a 9-yard pass to Tyreek Hill. A couple of plays later, Hill followed it up with an 8-yard catch. On third-and-2 soon after, Williams converted with a 5-yard run. Williams ran for a gain of 14 yards. An 11-yard pass to Kelce put the Chiefs into the red zone. After a sack and an incomplete pass, the Chiefs were at third-and-11. A 10-yard scramble from Mahomes left them just short of converting. Deebo Samuel took a run for 32 yards, and Coleman followed it up with a 7-yard run. After another 1-yard run by Coleman, the 49ers converted on third down with a 7-yard run by Samuel. Second drive: Jimmy Garoppolo started the drive with an 18-yard pass to Emmanuel Sanders. A couple of plays later, Brashaud Breeland caught an interception after Chris Jones pressured Garoppolo into a poor throw .

Third drive: The 49ers started the drive with a run for no gain from Raheem Mostert. Mostert followed it up with a 9-yard rush. Mostert ran again for 11 yards to put the 49ers into Chiefs territory.
