32. Kansas City Chiefs: Jeff Gladney, CB, TCU
Several of the Chiefs’ cornerbacks—Kendall Fuller, Morris Claiborne, Bashaud Breeland and Keith Reaser—will become free agents in the offseason. While he’s not the biggest corner (183 pounds), Gladney plays more physical than his weight and is exceptionally fast (4.34 40). Gladney has five career interceptions and 26 passes defended over the past two seasons.

Gladney is likely to be a player that teams have different views on. Maybe the Chiefs take him or another corner, but I think that corner will be an area they want to address with this pick, based on what’s available.

The defending champs could go OL, DE or WR (if Sammy Watkins is a cap casualty), but CB is a definite need.

Entering his fifth NFL season, Fuller is a savvy defensive back who just won the Super Bowl with the Kansas City Chiefs and received a 93.7 grade for his Super Bowl performance from PFF — the highest among all players in that game. Fuller will give suitors a solid nickel corner and provide teams the most bang for their buck.
2 Chris Jones Kansas City Chiefs DE
He is a power player who is only just now coming into his own. At 26, the Chiefs would be wise to keep him, whether with a new deal or a tag.

The Chiefs could find a way to afford Jones but seemingly made their decision about that last year, when they traded for and then signed defensive end Frank Clark to a five-year, $104 million deal. Giving Clark that contract one year and then a similar deal to Jones the next wouldn’t be smart business for a team that is preparing for Mahomes’ massive next contract, whether it comes this year or next.
The best hope for the Chiefs to keep Jones, at least for 2020, appears to be as the franchise player. But there’s no guarantee Jones would sign the franchise tender. He held out of offseason workouts last year in the hope of getting his contract extended then.

The New Orleans Saints quarterback and the NFL’s career passing leader will return for a 20th season after posting to Instagram on Tuesday that he will “make another run at it.”
Brees, who turned 41 in January, was scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent March 18, but he has made it clear for the past several years that he has no interest in testing the open market. So his only choices were staying in New Orleans or retiring.

If Tom Brady’s threats of free agency pan out, New England could be in the market for a starting quarterback. Brady’s departure would leave the Patriots with Jarrett Stidham and Cody Kessler in their QB room. A healthy Newton would allow Bill Belichick to swap out his classic pocket passer for a young, more mobile model.
Offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels has done an admirable job of devising a gameplan that allowed an aging Brady to thrive into his 40s. Newton would provide a different kind of challenge. He’s a less accurate, more turnover-prone quarterback than the one he’d be replacing. He also adds an extra dimension on the ground in ways his stiff-legged predecessor never could.

1. Le’Veon Bell: The New York Jets running back has a massive contract, but as NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport noted on Monday’s edition of NFL Total Access, Gang Green has never fully slammed the door on trading the running back who was signed by the previous GM Mike Maccagnan. Bell doesn’t seem to fit the Jets’ scheme, and the poor blocking meshes with his patient running style like oil and water. Yet, as Rapoport added, the massive $13 million contract is a hindrance that could keep Bell in New York. It’s possible the Jets could find a trade partner if they are willing to eat a large chunk of that guarantee, but even that seems iffy. Bell turns 28 years old today.

Chiefs Market Movers: The offseason after the Super Bowl
Mike Pennel- One of the real unlikely heroes of the Super Bowl run has already stated he hopes to return to the Chiefs. The big guy turned out to be a great fit on the interior defensive line and deserves much credit for the turnaround in the run defense. He shouldn’t be cost-prohibitive to re-sign and keep the second-half defense closer to intact.
Stefen Wisniewski- Another veteran that came in to patch up a team need late in the season, Wisniewski proved that he’s still a starter in the league. Also a free agent, he’s a guy that the Chiefs should consider re-signing and keeping him in front of Mahomes for another year or two.
