Late in the second quarter against the Atlanta Falcons, Kansas City Chiefs linebacker Ben Niemann noticeably came up limping after a play on defense. Shortly after, he reportedly walked into the tunnel and to the locker room.

The Chiefs ruled him questionable to return soon after he left the field.

Linebackers Willie Gay Jr., Darius Harris and Omari Cobb made an effort to fill the void in Niemann’s place, but the Chiefs allowed a touchdown on the same drive in which he got hurt. The Falcons took a 7-0 lead.

As a reminder: linebacker Damien Wilson has been injured for the past two games with a knee injury while starting linebacker Anthony Hitchens was placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list this week.

Later in the third quarter, the Chiefs announced that Niemann would not be returning to the game.
