The Chiefs chose to activate wide receiver Gehrig Dieter and offensive lineman Bryan Witzmann for the game. The Chiefs can elevate two players thanks to the NFL’s new roster rules for 2020.
Witzmann, 30, spent 2016-17 with the Chiefs, including 13 starts at left guard in 2017. After his stint with Kansas City, Witzmann bounced around between five teams before landing back with the Chiefs. The Chiefs added him to their practice squad late last month. He should provide depth along the line as Mitch Schwartz misses another game.
Dieter, 27, has been up and down from the practice squad since signing with the Chiefs as an undrafted free agent out of Alabama in 2017. With Sammy Watkins out again, Dieter provides depth at wide receiver.
