For Week 12, we get a pair of Thursday games. Happy Thanksgiving!
The action kicks off with the Detroit Lions (4-6) hosting their traditional Turkey Day game against the Houston Texans (3-7) at 11:30 a.m. Arrowhead Time, followed by the Washington Football Team (3-7) playing for the NFC East lead (!) against the Dallas Cowboys (3-7) in Texas at 3:30 Arrowhead Time.
There was supposed to be another Thanksgiving game. The normal Thursday Night Football matchup — the Baltimore Ravens (6-4) on the road against the Pittsburgh Steelers (10-0) — should have capped off the schedule. But because of multiple COVID-19 cases on the Ravens, the game will now be played Tuesday at 7 p.m. Arrowhead Time. The game remains on NBC and will be nationally televised.
This one will be of great interest to Kansas City Chiefs fans. With a Ravens victory, the Chiefs will control their own destiny in snatching the AFC’s first postseason seed from the Steelers. But to do that, they’ll also need to run the table. That process will start when the Chiefs (9-1) go on the road to play the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (7-4) during Sunday’s late games.
Elsewhere in the AFC West, the Los Angeles Chargers (3-7) travel to upstate New York to face the Buffalo Bills (7-3) and the Atlanta Falcons (3-7) host the Las Vegas Raiders (6-4) — both in Sunday’s early games — while the New Orleans Saints (8-2) grapple with the Denver Broncos (4-6) during the late slate at Mile High.
Sunday’s early matchups will also feature a big AFC South battle between the Tennessee Titans (7-3) and the Indianapolis Colts (7-3) at Lucas Oil Stadium.
The Green Bay Packers (7-3) will host the Chicago Bears (5-5) for Sunday Night Football, while the Seattle Seahawks (7-3) will travel to the City of Brotherly Love to take on the Philadelphia Eagles (3-6-1) on Monday Night Football.
PLEASE NOTE: AP staff picks for the upcoming Chiefs game are not revealed in this article — nor does it contain a reader poll for the Chiefs game. Both of those will be found in our weekly Chiefs score and predictions article.
