Mitchell Schwartz will not return vs. Bills due to back injury

The Chiefs right tackle went to the locker room early in the first quarter

Kansas City Chiefs v Cleveland Browns

After an unsuccessful first offensive drive, the Kansas City Chiefs punted away to the Buffalo Bills in the first quarter of Monday’s game. By the time they got the ball back, starting right tackle Mitchell Schwartz was in the locker room.

He was later downgraded to out in the third quarter. Schwartz had popped up on the final injury report of the week, but was active and played every snap of the team’s first drive.

When the team came out for their second drive, veteran Mike Remmers had moved from left guard to the right tackle position — while second-year lineman Nick Allegretti came in at left guard. The first play of the drive was a 31-yard run by running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire off of a Remmers block.

The other two offensive lineman in for the Chiefs are left tackle Eric Fisher and center Daniel Kilgore.
