Arrowhead Pride Beer of the Week: KC Bier Co. Fest Bier

Welcome to another edition of the Beer of the Week!

In 2018, I tried to pick beers from the region of the teams that the Chiefs were playing — yet also were distributed in the Kansas City area. This was not an easy task due to ridiculous distribution laws and limited production capabilities, so this year we’re just going to pick beers that are distributed in the Kansas City area.

This will allow me to highlight some beers that maybe wouldn’t get attention otherwise or could support a good local cause. With that said, we’ll be kicking off this Week 1 edition of the Beer of the Week with Kansas City’s own KC Bier Co. Fest Bier!

This 5.7% Vienna-Style Lager is full of bready, toasted and honey malts to complement a subtle Hallertau Mittelfrüh bitterness — all while maintaining a light, easy-to-drink body that won’t sit heavy in your stomach. The Fest Bier was so good last year that it was named the 10th Best Beer of 2018 in The Beer Connoisseur magazine’s list of Top 100 Beers of 2018. Best of all, the malts complement smoked/grilled meats perfectly. This is truly an ideal tailgating beer for your game day experience!

Being Kansas City’s largest locally-owned brewery, KC Bier Co. does a lot for the Kansas City area. They will be organizing KC Oktoberfest 2019 on October 4-5 in Crown Center, featuring food, music, and activities for adults and children alike. The featured beer is — you guessed it — KC Bier Co. Fest Bier!

If you can, try to swing by their Oktoberfest celebration or try to swing by your local liquor store and scoop up some KC Bier Co. Fest Bier this weekend!

Check back here this time next week for the new Beer of the Week!
