Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid said that running back LeSean McCoy hurt his ankle in the team’s game against the Oakland Raiders.
NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported that McCoy will undergo an MRI on Monday. Per our in-house injury expert, Aaron Borgmann, this is normal.
Standard procedure day after game for most injuries. MRI used to determine ligament/tendon issues if any present.@ArrowheadPride https://t.co/zrYjyayDXR

McCoy finished the game with 11 carries for 23 yards on a day in which the Chiefs really couldn’t get the run game going. The Chiefs still won thanks to Patrick Mahomes and the passing game, 28-10.
If McCoy does end up missing time, expect rookie Darwin Thompson to be paired with Damien Williams against the Baltimore Ravens this Sunday. It is worth noting that Reid also said Williams hurt his knee against the Raiders.
Typically, the Chiefs provide further injury updates on Wednesday.
