Patrick Mahomes was nearly perfect in final preseason tune-up

The reigning MVP played two drives before exiting the contest

We got what was likely our last look at Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes for the preseason, and the reigning league MVP was stellar in KC’s dress rehearsal. He only played part of the first half, engineering two drives for a total 15 snaps.

Mahomes’ very first pass went to running back Damien Williams for a 62-yard touchdown, getting the Chiefs offense off to a hot start. Mahomes started the next drive with four straight completions and capped it off with an eight yard scramble before the Chiefs settled for three points.

Mahomes came out the game with eight completions for 126 yards and a TD, leaving a great last impression before the season opener against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
