The Kansas City Chiefs had no changes to the injury report from Tuesday to Wednesday.

Chiefs wide receiver Tyreek Hill, who had been excused from practice on Tuesday (not injured), returned for the workout on Wednesday. Safety Tyrann Mathieu participated in a partial practice for the second straight day after injuring his shoulder in the game against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Saturday night.

The slight difference from Tuesday was that Mathieu saw some work in 11-on-11 and even managed to intercept a pass with one arm.

“Look, he wanted to go out there,” defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo said of Mathieu after practice. “He wanted to be out there [Tuesday]. We’ve kind of pulled the reins back and I think it’s smart football. Sometimes you’ve got to protect the guys from themselves. We’d like to get him to the game. We’ll see where we’re at, but everything about him has been impressive, so that doesn’t surprise me, that he was in there.”

There should be more definitive word on Thursday as to whether those players dealing with injuries will participate in the game. As of this writing, Mathieu is probably the safest bet.

The Chiefs resume practice at 11:45 a.m. Arrowhead Time on Thursday.
