Kansas City Chiefs defensive end Frank Clark missed practice on Tuesday, but his absence was not due to his lingering sore wrist. Clark was sick, per the Chiefs’ public relations department.
The other four Chiefs who missed Tuesday — wide receiver Gehrig Dieter, wide receiver Davon Grayson, H-back John Lovett and cornerback D’Montre Wade — were also out of practice to start the week on Monday.
With Lovett being spotted on the practice field wearing a sling, it “doesn’t sound like he is returning any time soon,” per our in-house injury expert, Aaron Borgmann. Reid said after Saturday night’s game that Lovett’s right shoulder separated, but the Chiefs were able to put it back in. It is impossible to know a precise timetable for Lovett until the team releases more details regarding his injury.
For the second day in a row, defensive lineman Alex Okafor only participated for a portion of practice as he continues to recover from a hip flexor issue. Defensive lineman Xavier Williams returned to the practice field after missing out on Monday. Williams has been dealing with a back issue.
The Chiefs will resume practice up in St. Joseph on Wednesday at 8:15 a.m. Arrowhead Time. The final day of training camp is Thursday.
