Kansas City Chiefs cornerback D’Montre Wade missed Monday practice after suffering a knee contusion in Saturday’s preseason game against the Cincinnati Bengals.
Wade had positioned himself as the team’s first cornerback off the bench prior to the injury. Knee contusions aren’t classified as serious, and Wade “could return in a day or so, barring larger underlying injury,” according to our in-house injury expert, Aaron Borgmann.
Wide receiver Davon Grayson (knee) and H-back John Lovett (shoulder) also were held out of Monday practice after suffering injuries in the game. Wide receiver Gehrig Dieter continues to miss time thanks to issues with his back.
Defensive lineman Alex Okafor only participated for a portion of practice as he continues to recover from a hip flexor issue.
The Chiefs resume training camp practice in St. Joseph Tuesday at 8:15 a.m. Arrowhead Time.
