In front of the current team, head coach Andy Reid calls Charles a future Hall of Famer and punter Dustin Colquitt describes what he meant to the franchise during his tenure with the club.
“Having my family here is everything to me,” Charles says in the video. “I’m a family guy. Having people here that supported me from the beginning to the end. My kids, they don’t know what dad was capable [of] but they’ll look at my highlights when they grow up to see that daddy was somebody special and that brings joy and tears to my eyes.”
Charles ran one final play with Patrick Mahomes and Anthony Sherman and received a plaque of his No. 25 jersey.
He left the Chiefs’ practice facility to a standing ovation from the business staff.
