There are still more than two months to go before Kansas City Chiefs training camp in St. Joseph and more than 100 days until the team’s first regular-season game.
But with the NFL Draft and undrafted free agency in the books, the folks at CG Technology felt comfortable enough for their annual release of betting spreads for the first 15 games of the season. They don’t include lines for Week 17 because of the unpredictability of starting lineups for teams getting ready for the playoffs or done for the season.
Last year, the Chiefs were favored in eight of the first 15 games at the early release of the lines (nobody at the time realized just how good Patrick Mahomes would be). This year, the Chiefs are favored in 12 of the first 15 games—with one game being a pick ‘em (Minnesota), and in the other two games, the Chiefs are a one-point underdog (Week 16 at Chicago) and a three-point underdog (Week 14 at New England).
A potential suspension or release of Chiefs wide receiver Tyreek Hill did not prevent the Chiefs from being favored for the entirety of the first half of the season.
Here is the full list of the lines. The first number indicates the point spread and the second number indicates the moneyline total. The moneyline briefly explained: to win 100 dollars on a Chiefs win against the Jaguars in Week 1, you’d have to wager 200. The PK against Minnesota means oddsmakers feel the game is too close to call one way or another.
