2019 SB Nation Community Live Mock Draft: Kansas City selections

Hey folks, I am taking part of the SB Nation community Live Mock Draft as the GM for the Chiefs and this weekend was the first 3 rounds. I will update this post next week once the mock is concluded.

The Live Mock Draft tracker is here: https://www.bigcatcountry.com/2019/3/13/18263259/2019-sb-nation-community-mock-draft-draft-tracker

Here is what KC did so far:

1-29 - traded to Minnesota, deal was:

KC sends:
Round 1 Pick 29

MIN sends:
Round 2 Pick 50
Round 3 Pick 101
2020 MIN 2nd Round Pick

Picks Selected so far:

2-50 Juan Thornhill S Virginia

2-61 Rock Ya-Sin CB Temple

2-63 Joe Jackson DE Miami

3-92 Kahale Warring TE San Diego State

3-101 Miles Boykin WR Notre Dame

Picks Upcoming:

5-167

6-201

6-214

7-216

then they add a few rounds of UDFA to this mock after that.

.

Juun Thornhill is a CB who switched to S but some think he is still good enough to go back to CB. We can try that or we can have him learn from the Honey Badger how to have success in the NFL as a fast safety and allow Spagnuolo to have both out there disguising the looks and be very versatile in what they can do on the back end. Top Safety SPARQ

CB Rock Ya-Sin is raw but has amazing potential. I think he can grow into a solid starter.

Joe Jackson comes in at DE. Alex Okafor is solid, but we do not know what we have at DE in Speaks & Kpassagnon. Jackson adds to the mix there as a physical prototype at the position with a solid amount of upside.

TE Kahale Warring I know some of you might be saying, "What about Travis Kelce?" Yeah, he is great and solid, but the hole at TE2 has been huge. And, go back to the playoff loss to the Titans in Alex Smith’s last game at QB in KC, when Kelce is out, the offense ground to a halt. Warring can be the TE2 that gets lots of snaps while learning and becoming a potential Kelce replacement once Kelce gets old or too expensive or both. Offense is what makes this team special, have to take value here and try to keep it special even if someone gets hurt.

Miles Boykin WR is the Chris Conley replacement with good upside to potentially be the #2 WR if Watkins or Hill leaves town after this season. Top SPARQ WR I was torn between him and Mclaurin, but Boykin is 3.5 inches taller and 1.5 years younger.
