It is officially NFL Scouting Combine week, the next step on the road to the NFL Draft (set to begin on Thursday night, April 25). Player interviews happen all week and then on-field drills begin Friday (NFL Network will have coverage). The combine takes place in Indianapolis, Indiana.
In addition to player evaluation, head coaches and general managers step to the podium and face the media for the first time in a long time, and that will include Chiefs head coach Andy Reid and Chiefs general manager Brett Veach.
Reid is expected to speak at 2:15 p.m. Arrowhead Time on Wednesday, while Veach is expected to speak at 10 a.m. Arrowhead Time on Thursday.
In my experience covering the combine, there can be delays on the start times of these availabilities, but this gives us a general idea on what to expect for the week.
Wednesday will be Reid’s first availability since the firing of Chiefs defensive coordinator Bob Sutton and the hiring of Steve Spagnuolo as his replacement. Veach will potentially provide updates on Eric Berry, Dee Ford and Justin Houston, as well as his process as he begins to tackle the 2019 draft class. After receiving a sixth-round comp pick on Friday, the Chiefs now have eight picks in this year’s draft.
Here is the entire combine podium interview schedule:
