Kansas City Chiefs starting left tackle Eric Fisher seems to be enjoying his time down in Orlando for Pro Bowl week. It is the first Pro Bowl experience for Fisher, who was drafted by Kansas City with the first overall pick of the 2013 NFL Draft.
Among other things, Fisher was asked about the season of quarterback Patrick Mahomes following Pro Bowl practice on Wednesday. Mahomes threw for 5,097 yards and 50 touchdowns on the 2018 season.
”I’m no quarterback evaluator, but obviously I can see a few things,” Fisher said of Mahomes, via Herbie Teope of NFL.com. “I think he took everyone by surprise. There was a lot of hype around him and I think he surpassed it.”
Fisher added the Chiefs are still getting over their 37-31 overtime loss to the New England Patriots in the AFC championship game.
”Right now, it’s just digesting that we got so close, but we didn’t make it,” he said. “I think right now the message is get away from the game for a second. I mean, if you hold on to this for too long, I don’t know, you got to restart somewhere, but obviously learn from it.”
It makes for a long offseason when you are the AFC runner-up.
