Patrick Mahomes is your odds-on favorite to win NFL MVP

The Chiefs’ second-year quarterback has better odds to win the Most Valuable Player Award than any other player in the league.

NFL: San Francisco 49ers at Kansas City Chiefs Denny Medley-USA TODAY Sports

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes opened up the season with 33-to-1 odds to win the NFL MVP award with 15 players ahead of him, according to Bovada.

Times have changed.

After the Chiefs’ Week 2 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers, Mahomes’ odds improved to 12 to 1, or fourth best, only behind Tom Brady, Drew Brees and Aaron Rodgers.

And now after the Week 3 win over the 49ers and his 13-touchdown, zero-interception start to the 2018 season, Mahomes is the odds-on favorite to win the award at the end of the season.

Here are the top 10 odds listed as of this writing:

Mahomes 3/1

Drew Brees 11/2

Aaron Rodgers 6/1

Tom Brady 9/1

Jared Goff 14/1

Todd Gurley 14/1

Alvin Kamara 16/1

Cam Newton 18/1

Ben Roethlisberger 20/1

Matt Ryan, Carson Wentz 22/1
