45 seconds: Andy Reid dialed up some magic for a touchdown Sunday

The play was technically a “passing touchdown” for Patrick Mahomes.

One of the things we hear all the time about Andy Reid’s encouragement to the players running his offense is to add their personality to it. Reid loves to cater his play calls to the abilities of his players. Sometimes that can spark ingenuity.

We learned on Sunday that Patrick Mahomes is capable of one of the most unique shovel passes I’ve ever seen. He was so convincing in his slight of hand toss under the arms of Kareem Hunt and into the hands of Tyreek Hill. The look resulted in a walk-in touchdown with Hill walking the tightrope before crossing the goal line.

The execution of the misdirection play was perfect, and I bet there’s more coming. We broke down the #MeshPointMagic in this week’s 45 seconds.
