We are about two weeks through Kansas City Chiefs training camp, with the first preseason game scheduled to take place less than a week from Friday.
Since Friday is an off day with no new news emerging from St. Joseph, I figured what better time to shift at least some focus on our Arrowhead Pride community?
Arrowhead Pride has more than 85,000 Twitter followers and more than 144,000 Facebook follows, but we only hear from a small percentage of you.
With that being said, I’d like to call out the lurkers!
Take this opportunity to introduce yourself in the comments. Please share your name and how you began following the Chiefs. If you want, share why you picked your username. And if not, give us anything. Who are you? What’s your story? What’s your best Chiefs story. Who’s your all-time favorite player? Why?
Tell us something, anything.
I think most of you know about me by now. If not, here’s the skinny:
I’m Pete Sweeney. In need of an internship to complete my master’s program in 2014, I linked up with Chiefs dot com and BJ Kissel. I was a reporter intern for the Kansas City Chiefs for the ‘14 season, then became the Chiefs’ No. 2 reporter and host of most of their television programming for the 2015 and 2016 seasons. While representing the mothership, I developed a friendship with Joel. In the spring of 2017, I sat down with Joel for beers at the Red Door Grill in Brookside to discuss what a jump to Arrowhead Pride from dot com would look like. In the summer of 2017, I took the leap of faith. I was promoted to Editor-in-Chief two months ago, and here we are.
Some of my best moments, both as a member of the mothership and AP, have been getting to interact with readers and viewers, and I think that’s why this post is important.
Let’s continue to build this great Chiefs community.
Enough from me.
Welcome to Arrowhead Pride. Let’s hear from you!
