According to a report from NFL Insider Ian Rapoport, Orlando Scandrick will be in Kansas City Tuesday night to talk to the Chiefs.
Veteran free agent CB Orlando Scandrick, released by the #Redskins today, is already drawing significant interest on the market. Source said the #Chiefs are the first team to bring him in for a visit, and he’s flying there tonight.— Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) August 14, 2018
Scandrick, 31, is a nine-year NFL cornerback who was drafted by the Dallas Cowboys in the fifth round of the 2008 NFL Draft. Released by the Cowboys after last season, he signed a two year deal with the Washington Redskins that included a $1 million signing bonus.
But now the Redskins have changed their minds:
#Redskins head coach Jay Gruden on the release of CB Orlando Scandrick: "It had nothing to do with his play. It was more of the rookies' emergence...it also gives Orlando time to get on another team."— Washington Redskins (@Redskins) August 14, 2018
Scandrick will now pocket the million, and look for a new home — starting with the Chiefs, who have something over $8 million publicly listed in cap space at the moment.
Here’s a quick rundown of Scandrick’s production over the years:
