UPDATE (Thursday, July 26, 12:00 p.m.): Carrington Harrison of The Drive on 610 Sports has provided an update on what happened with free agent cornerback Bashaud Breeland:
Updated information on Bashaud Breeland:

Source tells me Chiefs offered a 1 year "prove it" type deal for around 7-8M but Breeland's camp wants a deal similar to the 3 year/24 million deal offered by Carolina in March.
Was also told "it's not over" and source expects Breeland to take both visits to IND and CLE before making a decision.

Told Chiefs felt really good about landing Breeland. He even sat in on meetings yesterday but the Chiefs don't want to exhaust all remaining cap space.
Harrison has been on top of the Breeland story all along, and this is a great update. What it means is the Chiefs may still realistically sign the free agent cornerback, but he wants to see if he can find a better offer.
If the Chiefs want him badly enough, they could presumably match that better offer, but they don’t want to handcuff themselves, which is a smart way to go about it.
Here is Pro Football’s Eric Edholm offering greater clarity:
Not sure if it’s out there, but free-agent CB Bashaud Breeland is in Indy then headed to CLV. He’s expected to make a decision Saturday. Chiefs also in the mix.

We’ll see how it plays out the rest of the week.
ORIGINAL STORY (Wednesday, July 25, 9:00 p.m.)
It was quite a day in Chiefs Kingdom. As the day progressed, more and more signs pointed to the free agent cornerback signing a deal with the Chiefs at any minute.
But now we have this from ESPN’s Field Yates:
Source: free agent CB Bashaud Breeland has left his visit with the Chiefs without a deal. That doesn't mean he has ruled out signing with KC, but for now he's on to another visit(s). The Colts are amongst the other suitors.

So now, Breeland will visit the Colts, and possibly the Browns. And then we’ll see.
