Andy Reid likens Patrick Mahomes to Brett Favre, too

This is getting ridiculous.

It’s Saturday and the Patrick Mahomes hype train just keeps choo-chooing down the track.

Former Kansas City Chiefs linebacker Tamba Hali made national headlines this week when he compared Patrick Mahomes to Pro Football Hall of Famer Brett Favre.

But this news may be even bigger: Andy Reid agrees.

“[Reid] absolutely believed Mahomes had some Favre in his game,” a former Chiefs staff member told NFL.com’s Bucky Brooks. “We constantly heard the comparisons, especially his ability to improvise and extend plays. He raved about his gunslinger mentality and big arm, and how he could fit the ball into tight windows.

”Reid wasn’t bothered at all by the crazy throws that Mahomes would make into traffic. All of it reminded him of Favre.”

Favre had 71,838 yards, 508 touchdowns, 336 interceptions and a Super Bowl championship in his 16-year career. He compiled these stats over 298 starts.

Now more than ever, it’s important to remember that Mahomes has started one.
