Former Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Albert Wilson joined hosts Brady Quinn and Bruce Murray on Sirius XM’s NFL Radio on Monday.
Wilson, 25, signed with the Miami Dolphins as an unrestricted free agent this past offseason after spending the first four years of his career with the Chiefs catching passes from Alex Smith.
#Dolphins WR @iThinkIsee12: I like the coach and the offensive scheme and I felt like I could fit in here and hopefully win some games. They told me I will play all over and just trying to get key match ups. We have a great Wide Receiver room.

Wilson worked firsthand with Smith for most of his Chiefs career, but also had the opportunity to play one game with Patrick Mahomes Week 17 of last season. Wilson caught a career-high 10 passes for 147 yards in the game.
“Alex is a winner; he’s a great leader,” Wilson said. “He’s doing all the right things, so no doubt, all those things follow success. I feel like he will be successful no matter where he goes, and with a Pat, the kid, he’s super athletic. He can make any throw he wants to make, so with coach (Andy) Reid’s offense and how he has things going, I could see Pat doing good over there also.”
Murray then asked Wilson if he was surprised the Chiefs opted to move on from Smith given his success in five seasons as the Chiefs’ starting quarterback.
“Yeah, I feel like Alex did a great job while he was there,” Wilson said. “He did exactly what he was supposed to do, but the kid is really talented. I see why they moved up to pick him. I believe he’s going to do great, also, so it was just something they thought was the best idea for their franchise.”
The hosts were pushing Wilson to choose who was better, but he wouldn’t, and I think that is OK.
It is completely feasible for Smith to continue winning and making the playoffs in Washington while Mahomes becomes the franchise quarterback the Chiefs have been seeking for a very long time.
Wilson also discussed his new role with the Miami Dolphins, quarterback Ryan Tannehill and his relationship with another new Dolphins wide receiver, Danny Amendola. For more information on Sirius XM Radio, follow the link here.
